What is Double Board Poker?
Double Board poker is a variant where two separate boards of community cards are dealt simultaneously. This means that instead of one set of community cards, there are two sets, creating two different potential winning hands.
How It Works:
- Dealing the Cards: Each player is dealt their private hole cards as in standard Texas Hold’em.
- The Two Boards: Two separate boards of five community cards each are dealt. These boards are independent of each other:
- Top Board: The first set of five community cards.
- Bottom Board: The second set of five community cards.
- Betting Rounds: The betting structure remains the same as in traditional Texas Hold’em with rounds of betting before and after the flop, turn, and river. Players can bet, check, raise, or fold as usual.
- Creating Hands: Players use their two hole cards to make the best possible five-card hand for each of the two boards independently. This means you have the opportunity to win on either board or both!
- Winning the Pot: The pot is typically split between the best hand on the Bottom Board and the best hand on the Top Board. If a player wins both boards, they take the entire pot. In the event of ties, the pot is split accordingly.
